Advanced Nervous System Training

Sports Lab

The SportsLab advanced nervous system training is the vehicle which further distinguishes this program from conventional methods. It is the essential means to dramatic improvement in speed, quickness, grace, power, and sports specific skills. The athlete's neuromuscular system will be continually challenged and "shocked" by the intensity and complexity of the stimuli. The nervous system becomes imprinted by being programmed through specific sensory and motor activities producing the ability to compute and apply the correct amount of force at every instant of each movement. This kinesthetic focus produces advancements in athletic performance that were previously thought impossible to accomplish.

  • Sports-specific movement patterning including spiral, diagonal and rotational aspects, as well as movements which cross the body's midline enhance rotational power which effects throwing and hitting.
  • Concurrent combining of instability, proprioceptive stimulation, and plyometric strength loading in multi-planes using visual and auditory cues will enhance the effectiveness of the movements.
  • Exercises requiring an instant reaction to the unpredictable and sudden changes of situation sharpen neuromuscular efficiency.
  • Complex non-impact plyometrics and high-velocity movements that condition the nervous system enhance the speed with which the fast-twitch muscle fibers respond by increasing the speed of stimulating and inhibiting muscle groups.
  • Enhanced rapidity of both contraction and relaxation dramatically decreases the time of force production
  • Techniques produce cognitively challenging stimulation using a proper sequence of precise resistance types.
  • Repeated contractions facilitate motor learning, control, coordination and rhythm.
  • Use of multiple joint and compound muscle actions improves coordination.
  • A progressive, systematic, and sequential increase in the degree of complexity and stimulation will prevent nervous system stagnation and raise performance levels to new heights.
  • Enhanced firing frequency, synchronization, and timing will further refine the precision of movement.
